Mrs. Grace Boland Sullivan

April 13, 1928 - March 11, 2009

Grace Boland Sullivan passed away in Indianapolis on March 11, 2009, after a long illness. Her family was by her side at the end. Hers was a life of service to that family and to her faith, including a lifelong interest in and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Grace Boland was born on April 13, 1928, the daughter of John and Adelia. She was the younger sister of Adelia and Jack, with whom she was very close. She graduated from Rosary College in River Forest, Illinois. She married Edward J. Sullivan in 1951 and settled in Chicago and Oak Park; they had eight children. The family later moved to Palatine, Illinois, where Grace was, for many years, a successful residential real estate broker.

Her sons -- EJ (Elvira), Tim (Sharon), and Terry (Patrice) -- and daughters -- Maureen (Tom Schauer), Marigrace Bailey (Dave), Jeanmarie (Bob Waterworth), Margaret (Chuck Elliott), and Mary Eileen -- survive her. Also part of her remaining family are her sister-in-law Rosemary Boland; her grandchildren Maura, Timothy, Teresa, Terren, Kevin, Jorge, Ale, Cameron, Colleen, Brendan, and Erin; five great grandchildren; and many, many nephews and nieces. Grace loved them all dearly. They mourn the loss of her great kindness and spirit, and celebrate her life and memory.
