Elaine G. Leak was born on March 1, 1959. She was called home by her Heavenly Father at 3:39 pm on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at MUSC in Charleston, SC.
She was born to the late Anna Williams Griffin and the late Oscar Sullavan.
Elaine graduated from Walterboro High School of Walterboro, SC. Elaine was a member of The New Church of Christ in Walterboro, SC.
Elaine leaves behind to cherish her memories, a devoted and loving husband, Mr. James H. Leak; one step-son, James H. McRae (Erica); one granddaughter, Jayda McRae of North Carolina; father-in-law, Henry P. Leak of North Carolina; six sisters, Birdell Gardner of Florida, Jeanette Stephens, Caroline Moultrie, Barbara Williams, Gloria G. McTeer (Elijah) of Walterboro, SC, and Hazel Burnell (Rodney) of Charleston, SC; one brother, Jesse J. Griffin of Walterboro, SC; one special friend, Margaret Brown of North Carolina; one special niece, Jestine Fair of Walterboro, SC; two sisters and one brother preceded her in death, Jessie M. Fair, Evelyn Heyward and Charles Griffin; four brothers-in-law, Leon Patterson, Lloyd Patterson (Loise), Perry Patterson (Helen) and Lonnie Patterson of North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Toni McRae (Foster); special aunt and uncle-in-law, James and Flo Tyson; special aunt-in-law, Shelby Beatha (Ed); two aunts, Alfare Marion (Frank) and Janie Norris (Sonnie) of Savannah, GA; two uncles, Joe Williams of Savannah, GA and Bishop John Terry of Mt. Vernon, NY; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, along with numerous devoted and caring friends; a special friend and adopted brother, Dr. Elijah McTeer, Pastor of Walterboro, SC.
