ROCK HILL – Mr. Bobby Ray Sturgis, 78, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at his home.
A memorial service will be at 1pm on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Catawba Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Richardson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be private.
Born in York County, Mr. Sturgis was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin “Frank” Sturgis and the late Bleeker Franklin Sturgis. He was a US Air Force veteran and a member of the Corinthian Masonic Lodge #416. He was the widower of Francis M. Sturgis and was also preceded in death by four siblings.
Surviving are his sons, Ben Sturgis (Teresa) of Collinsville, VA and Tim Sturgis of Winston-Salem, NC; his daughter, Lori S. Morrison (Dane) of Valrico, FL; his sister, Joyce McConnell of Rock Hill; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Hannah, Jessica and Jason.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Sturgis’ name to Catawba Baptist Church, 1450 South Anderson Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730; or to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 1515 Mockingbird Ln # 702, Charlotte, NC 28209. Greene Funeral Home Rock Hill, S.C.
