Funeral services for Elsie Elaine Stuckey Anzalone, 86, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Father Mark Watson officiating along with Msgr. Edmund Moore, Father David Richter and Father Matthew Long assisting.
Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mrs. Anzalone was born January 24, 1926 in Eros, LA and died Saturday, March 17, 2012, in Monroe, LA.
She worked at Little Red School House as a bookkeeper until she retired in January of 1991. She also worked at JC Penney until she retired in January of 1990. She and her husband, Frank Vincent Anzalone, Jr., were founding members of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Mrs. Anzalone was an exemplary example of moral character for her children and grandchildren. She always prioritized faith and family in her daily life. She was a frequent supporter of St. Vincent de Paul Society and Catholic Charities.
Mrs. Anzalone was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Frank Vincent Anzalone, Jr.; her parents, Felix Alton Stuckey and Linnie Ozella Harper Stuckey; brother, James H. Stuckey; and grandson, Benjamin Jones.
Survivors include her children, Kay Cargel of Monroe, Frank Anzalone, III and wife Patsy of Monroe, Diane Jones and husband Rex of Seminole, FL, Peggy Clark of Monroe, Dr. Charles Anzalone and wife Connie of Crowley, LA, Ronald Anzalone and wife Gina of Brambleton, VA, and Dr. Gary Anzalone and wife Cindy of El Dorado, AR; brother, Shelton Stuckey and wife Geneva of Chatham, LA; fourteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Paul Anzalone, Lane Anzalone, Brad Anzalone, Dr. Jeff Anzalone, Eric Cargel, and nephew, Mark Anzalone.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and a Vigil Wake Service at 6:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
The family would like to thank Louisiana Hospice, especially Suzi Thornhill and Rochell Bailey for their exceptional care they provided to her during these last few years. Also for the love and devotion given to her by Pearlie Jones, Alberta Norsworthy, and Gloria Battle, her private sitters.
