Billie Jean Stubblefield, 76, passed away peacefully in the arms of her husband with all of her children and other family members at her bedside, on Friday, May 15, 2009, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS.
Visitation will be today from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Wright and Ferguson on Highland Colony Parkway. Services will be in the Wright & Ferguson Chapel today at 2 p.m., followed by entombment in the Trinity Mausoleum.
"Miss Billie", as she was affectionally called, graduated from Bay Springs High School, Class of '51, then traveled the world as a military wife while raising three children. Upon her husband's retirement from service, she worked as a secretary for him at their family business, Precision Electronics, for 30 years, before retiring in 2004. She was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Ridgeland.
She is survived by her husband, Richard B. (Bill) Stubblefield of Brandon; her mother, Virgie Mary Vinson of Raleigh; her children, Rick (Linda) Stubblefield of Brandon, Dan (Cindy) Stubblefield of Madison and Michelle Stubblefield Boswell of Belzoni; grandchildren, Jason (Judith Ann) Stubblefield of Miami, Brad (Kristan) Stubblefield of Madison, Beth Culberson of Madison, John David Boswell of Jackson and Matt Stubblefield of Madison; sister, Hilda Austin of West Point; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Steward Robinson; two brothers, Steward Robinson, Jr. of Nederland, TX. and Alfred A. (Al) Robinson of Florence.
Her family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the doctors and staff of Hospice Ministries for all their love, support and attentive care they provided during her illness.
