`1910 census shows his parents are Montgomery and Elizabeth Stuart, living in Albion, Edwards County, Illinois. The 1930 census lists him and his wife Gladys Fern [Whitaker] Stuart living in Dodge City, Kansas, they were married in 1925. [April 2010]

Vaughn died in an automobile accident in Ford County, Kansas. He was a contractor and built bridges. At the time of his death, he had the contract to build the bridge just west of the Broadview Hotel in Wichita, Kansas. The bridge was later built by Mr. Ralph Wagner.
