Karla was born the daughter of Linda and Billy Strother. There are not enough adjectives to perfectly describe Karla: wife, sister, friend and even daughter do not do justice to who she really was. Her smile … her laugh … her tenacity for the things and the people she believed in only give the slightest glimpse of Karla Kay. Above all else Karla was the ultimate mother. Not just to Hannah and Garrett, whom she adored, but to all of us. She made it her mission to make sure that everyone was someone and that no matter what, everything would work out. Karla was part of a fourth generation and lifelong resident of Sweeny and a graduate of the Class of '86. Through her love, faith, strength and courage she amazed and taught us all little and big lessons without most of us knowing it. The resilient battle cry of "Karla Kay Can!" was rallied because we knew if she could, we could too. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Karla is survived by her husband and faithful caregiver, Alan Archer; daughter, Hannah Padon; and son, Garrett Archer all of Sweeny; mother, Linda Weeks Strother of Sweeny; father, Billy Strother and wife, Patty, of Normangee; brothers, Wadale Strother and wife, Angie, Stoney Strother and fiancée, Cristina, of Sweeny, and Ty Kilsby of Brazoria; stepsisters, Sheena Thomas of Normangee, Jody Wright and husband, Kenneth, of Brazoria, and Micki Cameron of Lake Jackson; father- and mother-in-law, Jim and Janelle Archer; sister- and brother-in-law, Susan and Mark Kluckman of Houston; and she was "Aunt Sissy" to Jarad, Jada, Jerica, Brianna, Mason, Jude and Francesca.
Karla passed away from Leukemia.

I miss you so much mother. No one can ever compare. I just hope to be half the mother you were to me.|
