He was a son of James Monroe Strong and Rutha Jane Upton Strong. Me married Becky Kimble in 1892; on June 27,1901 he married Rebecca Satterfield, and on June 20,1914 he married Fanny Chennyworth.
He was living with his wife, Fanny, in West Plains at the time of his death. Information on the death certificate was provided by Arthur Strong.
