Mrs. Mary Marquard, 78, died Sunday morning, January 1, 1956, at 2 o'clock at St. Michael's hospital.
Mrs. Marquard, the former Mrs. Matt Czech, had been a patient at the hospital for four months.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, January 4, at 9 o'clock at St. Stanislaus' Catholic Church, with burial in the spring at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Polonia. Friends visited at the Crosby Funeral Home, where a rosary was said at 8 o'clock in the evening.

Mrs. Marquard was born in the Town of Sharon on August 4, 1879, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stroik. Her marriage to Matt Czech of the Town of Sharon took place July 2, 1898. He died February 25, 1943.
On April 9, 1945, she was married to Fred Marquard of Stevens Point, who died March 7, 1950.

Mrs. Marquard was survived by eight children by her first marriage, Mrs. Leo Pepowski, Sharon, Mrs. Ann Dulak and Raymond Check, Shantytown, Peter Check, 1313 Sims Avenue, Stanley Check, 924 Portage Street, Sylvester Check, 329 Simonis Street, Anton Check, Chicago and Matt Check, jr., Milwaukee; five stepsons by her first husband's first marriage, Joseph and Felix Check, town of Alban, Barney Check, town of Sharon, Walter Check, town of Reid (Marathon county), and Michael Check, Milwaukee; 14 stepchildren by her second husband's first marriage, Herman Marquard, Knowlton, Edward Marquard, Amherst Junction, Lester Marquard, Mrs. Ted Filtz and Mrs. Stanley Stoltz, Hatley, Mrs. Ben Zywiski, Amherst, Mrs. Raymond Check, Shantytown, and Clarence, Wilfred, Fred, Jr., Vincent, Gilman and Merle Marquard and Mrs. Anton Molski, Stevens Point; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grand children; three sisters, Mrs. Theresa Suchon, Bevent, Mrs. Joseph Kasper, Ironwood, Mich., and Mrs. Ted Mrozinski, Ashland, and three brothers, Sylvester Stroik, Kenosha, Julian Stroik, Galloway, and Michael Stroik, Stevens Point.
A daughter, Mrs. Barney Yach, preceded her in death.
