Leo Paul Stringfellow passed away on September 25, 2013 in St. George, Utah.

Born in 1931 in Pomona, California to Lola and Barney Stringfellow who owned the Melody Pet Shop. Graduated from Pomona High School in 1949 and then attended Mt. San Antonio Community College for three years. He worked at the Throne Ranch in LaVerne with horses and calves for one year where he met his future bride, Shirley Throne. They were married in 1953 and moved to Davis California where Leo attended U.C. Davis and Shirley taught elementary school in Woodland, California. Leo graduated from U.C. Davis Veterinary School in 1958.

They moved to New Zealand in 1958 where he was employed by the Veterinary Services Council first in Shannon, New Zealand and then Te Awamutu, New Zealand, working primarily with dairy cattle. Their first son Daniel was born in Te Awamutu.

They returned to the United States in 1960 and lived in Claremont, California where he was employed by the Chino Veterinary Hospital doing large animal medicine for one year. Their second son Michael was born in 1961.

From 1961 to 1962 they lived in Inglewood, CA where he worked with small animals at the Crenshaw Dog and Cat Hospital in Los Angeles.

1962 to 1972 he owned and operated the Pomona Valley Veterinary Hospital where Shirley was a part time receptionist.

In 1972 they moved to San Diego County and was employed by the Santa Fe Animal Clinic in Encinitas, Main Street Animal Hospital in San Diego, North Park Animal Hospital in San Diego, and then built and operated the Del Mar Heights Animal Clinic in Del Mar for nine years.

In January 1986, he combined practices with Dr. Martin of Solana Beach and Dr. Mulvaney of Del Mar to operate the All Creatures Hospital located at Del Mar Heights Road and El Camino, at the north side of San Diego. He retired in 1991 and they moved to Kayenta, Utah.

He is survived by his wife Shirley and their two sons, Daniel, married, who lives in Valley Center, California and Michael, married, who lives in Carlsbad, California; they are both in the computer world.
