Anna was born on December 26, 1928 in Knob Noster, MO, to L.D. and Harriette (nee Phillips) Strickland and was one of 9 children. She married Joseph E. Brown on April 15, 1950 in Cabool, MO. They made their home for many years in Overland, MO and moved to Sullivan in 1982. While in Overland, Anna worked for St. John's Mercy Hospital for 30 years as a cook in the Log Room (coffee shop). She became a member of St. Anthony's Parish after moving to Sullivan.
Anna is survived by four daughters, Beverly Saunders of Rolla, MO, Janet Brown of St. Clair, MO, Susan Polidori and husband Ronald of Houston, TX, and Theresa Brown of St. Clair, MO; 11 grandchildren; 22 Great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Lou Pennington of Cabool; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joseph in 1991; a son, Daniel in 1981; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Graveside funeral services for Anna Lee Brown were conducted at 10:45 a.m. on Monday, September 19, 2011 at National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks, MO, with Reverend Mike Delashmit officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in memory of Anna Lee Brown.
Arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO.
