Mrs. Sue Strickland Barfield, age 72, of Thomaston GA, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Barfield was born December 9, 1943, in Riedsville GA, to the late William Ed and Montez Strickland. She was a seamstress for Sherri Lynn Textiles in Zebulon GA, and member of Mountain View Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband Tommy Barfield of Thomaston; daughter, Toiee (Russell) Blount of Thomaston; sons, James Carter of Rancho Viejo TX and Rex Carter of Hiram GA; sister, Sandra (Leon) Brown of Alamo GA; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Jennifer Ried.

Funeral services for Mr. Barfield will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Upson Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at Coggins Funeral Home.
