Obituary, The Columbia Daily Tribune, October 11, 2010:

Archie Strawn, 88, of Centralia passed away Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until time of services at the funeral home.

Archie was born Feb. 15, 1922, in Hallsville to Stanley and Cora Koch Strawn, and they preceded him in death. He had been married to Betty Ford, and she preceded him in death. He was also married to Virginia Strawn and later to Hazel Adams, and they survive.

Archie was a member of the U.S. Army, and he served during World War II.

He was a retired fireman for the city of Columbia.

He is survived by children Carol Lauffer of Island Harbor, Fla., Ron Strawn of Columbia and Cindy Berry of Hartsburg; eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Strawn; and three sisters.

Grandpa Archie-Even though we never got to meet in person, I enjoyed our phone calls we had. I wish you were able to have met your Great Grandchildren and now your Great Great Granddaughters in Texas. May you Rest In Peace.
