Amanda Strawn, 86, of 106 Balow Wynd, died Friday at Columbia House Healthcare, 1801 Towne Drive, following an illness of several months. Mrs. Strawn was born Sept 15, 1891, in Boone County, to George E. and Mary E. Farris Settles. She married Mort J. Strawn on Feb 30 (?), 1944. He died in 1972. She was a member of the Wilkes Boulevard United Methodist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Clarence Yates, Denver, Colo., Mrs. Cleo Persinger, 106 Balow Wynd, and Mrs. M.B. Allen, 417 Alexander Ave., a son, Nelson Wilhite, Wright City, Mo., two sisters, Mrs. Opal Guest, Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Hanna Fronaberger, Kansas City, Kan., seven grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. Services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Robert Mordt of the Wilkes Boulevard Methodist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
