"Mrs. Fannie S. Brown, who had been ill for four weeks, one week in St. Elizabeth's hospital, died there of a complication of diseases at 12 o'clock Friday night.
Mrs. Brown, the wife of Simon Brown, merchant tailor for some time at East North Street, sister of Jules Straus, president of Straus & Louis Co., and of Misses Bettie and Anna Straus of this city, was born 57 years ago at Chillcothe, Ohio, from which place she came with her husband and two children, Arthur and Rhea Brown, to , two years ago.
The blow is made heavier for the children and other relatives by the serious illness of Mr. Brown, who is admitted to have been confined to the house for eight months.
The funeral will probably be held Monday afternoon from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jules Straus 440 North Vermilion Street. Rabbi Leitesiger, of Terre Haute, officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery." - August 17, 1912
