Mildred L. Anderson, age 58, of East Peoria, Illinois and formerly of Monmouth, passed away at her E. Peoria Home at 4:14 pm on February 20, 2014. Mildred was born on March 2, 1955 in Monmouth and is the daughter of William and Marilyn Elaine Howell Strange. She was reared and educated in Monmouth where she attended local schools and Monmouth High School,graduating with the class of 1973. She married James Anderson on November 14. 1981 in Monmouth, and he is surviving. Mildred is a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, and family was most important to her. She was a member of the Monmouth Eagles Aerie Auxiliary. Mildred is survived by her husband, James of Monmouth, two sons; Steven (Lindsay) Anderson of Bellevue, Illinois and Eric (Tammi) Anderson of Monmouth, Illinois, two daughters; Michelle (Kendall) Anderson of East Peoria, Illinois and Kim (Chad Kramer) Meyer of Pekin, Illinois, two sisters; Theresa (Gary) Ward and Missy (Butch) Engle both of Monmouth, Illinois. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Jeff and William Strange, one sister; Janet Connerly, and her Mother and Father-in-law.
Services: A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00-11:00 prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Monmouth Cemetery, Monmouth, Illinois. A memorial fund has been established for the Illinois Cancer Center of Peoria, Illinois.
