OSCEOLA MILLS - Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, Osceola Mills for Mary D. Mital, 89, of Osceola Mills, who died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004, at 5:47 p.m. at Bon Secours Holy Family Hospital, Altoona.
Monsignor Joseph K. Bobal will be the celebrant. Interment will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Osceola Mills
Friends will be received from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today at Heath Funeral Home, Osceola Mills.
Christian Vigil service will be held at 4:30 p.m. followed by the recital of the Rosary at 8 p.m. both today at the funeral home.
Born Nov. 16, 1914, in Morrisdale, she was the daughter of John J. and Susan (Prosuh) Straka.
Mrs. Mital was a housewife. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Osceola Mills.
On Aug. 22, 1937, she wed Paul J. Mital, who preceded her in death Oct. 1, 1987.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Bookamire and her husband, Kenneth, and Patricia A. Ropchock and her husband, Bernard, both of Osceola Mills and Mary Sue Richardson and her husband, James, of Cleveland, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Marcia Demchak, Richard Bookamire, Kevin Bookamire, Douglas Bookamire, Larry Richardson, John Paul Mital Jr., Timothy Mital, David Mital and Alanna Ropchock; and nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Tocimak of Hawk Run; and a brother, Joseph Straka and his wife, Violet, of Hawk Run.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Victoria Territo; and a son, John Paul Mital.
