Priscilla Benadum, 63, of Gaston, Indiana, passed away Wednesday at St. Vincent's Hospice in Indianapolis, IN. She was born the daughter of Ora and Hattie (Wheat) Strait. Her father, Ora, died in World War II when she was less than a year old. Her mother then married Ralph Marker in 1945 who became the only father she ever knew. She graduated from Eaton High School in 1962. In Dec. 1964 at the Eaton United Methodist Church, she married Philip Benadum, who survives.
She loved bowling and was an excellent bowler who bowled a 700 series. She was a member of the USBA. She was the happiest when she was outdoors working with her flowers. She also enjoyed sewing, crafts, animals, and traveling with her husband all over the United States on a motorcycle.
Survivors include her husband, Phil Benadum; one sister, Nancy Vester; a very special niece and nephew, Lisa Vester and Robert Vester; two brothers-in-law, David Benadum (Diane) and Gerald Benadum (Nancy); two sisters-in-law, Etta Barlow (Lowell) and Mary Ann Lorance; three uncles, Leroy Scott, Marshall Wheat, and Howard Strait; and several additional nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Hattie Marker.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Garden View Funeral Home. Pastor Howard Fights will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
