Charlene A. Filcher
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Charlene A. Filcher, 60, of Sioux Falls, died Friday, Aug. 21, at Southridge Healthcare Center in Sioux Falls.
She was born on July 22, 1938, in Dillon, the daughter of Charles and Reta (South) Stout. She grew up in Butte, where she attended high school. She married George Filcher on May 18, 1957, in Butte. The couple lived in Tucson, Ariz., Phoenix, and Bismarck, N.D. In 1976, they moved to Sioux Falls.
Charlene enjoyed many activities, including crafts, painting and ceramics. She loved camping, fishing, her grandchildren and had been a cub scout den leader.
Survivors include her husband George of Sioux Falls; a daughter Lee Ann Odell Santos of Boulder, Colo.; and a son John Filcher of Sioux Falls; a sister Daneva; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, and until service time on Thursday, Aug. 27 at the Whitesitt Funeral Home in Stevensville. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at the Whitesitt Funeral Home in Stevensville, with Deacon Tubie Johnson of Butte officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Stevensville.
