Charles D. Stout, age 71, 268 Poga Rd., Butler died Sunday, December 18, 2005 in Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Clifford F. and Bonnie Rose Potter Stout. Mr. Stout retired from the Tennessee Division of Forestry after thirty-two years of service. He was a member of Roan Creek Lodge #679 F.&A.M. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stout was preceded in death by one brother, Beryl Stout. Survivors are his wife, Margaret Stout of the home, two sons, Johnny Stout of the home, Thomas Stout, Vilas, NC, two grandsons, Thomas "Bittie Boy" Stout of the home, Riley Stout, Vilas, NC, two granddaughters, Jocelyn Stout, Cassandra Stout, both of Mountain City, TN, one sister, Berniece Hatley, Butler, and one special cousin, Betty Ward, Hampton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mr. Stout will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 21 in the Tetrick Funeral Home Riverside Chapel with Rev. Doug Ranshaw officiating. Masonic services will be accorded by Roan Creek Lodge #679 F.&A.M. following the funeral service Wednesday. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service in the chapel or at the residence anytime. The graveside service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 22 in Walsh Cemetery, Butler. Those attending are asked to meet the family at 9:55 a.m. Thursday at the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Kevin Ward, Kale Ward, Michael Walsh, Bill Marlow, Randy Ellis, Luther Whaley, Doug Arney and Chris Dunn. Honorary pallbearers will be friends from the Division of Forestry: Martin Miller, Steve Bingham, Creek Guy, Tim McCoury, Bob Denton, Dennis Miles and members of the Elk Mills Volunteer Fire Department.
