Betty Storie Bumgarner, 68, of 726 Brooke Shell Road, Elk Park, died Nov. 6, 2003, at home.
She was born Sept. 9, 1935, in Watauga County.
She was a graduate of Cove Creek High School and received her LPN degree from the Grace Hartley School of Nursing in Banner Elk. She was a nurse with Elk River Medical Associates in Banner Elk.
Survivors include her husband, Homer R. Bumgarner; two sons, Chris Bumgarner and wife, Jane, of Elk Park and David Bumgarner and wife, Mary, of Banner Elk; three grandchildren, Carter and Cassie Bumgarner of Elk Park and Millie Bumgarner of Banner Elk; one brother, Homer Storie of Lenoir. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded indeath by a sister, Gladys Morris; and four brothers, Eugene Storie, Houston Storie, John Storie and Douglas Storie.
