|Birth: ||Jun., 1892|
Lola Stoops, at the age of 13, witnessed her mother's murder and survived herself only because their assailant's gun jammed when he turned the gun on her.
After their mother's death in late 1905, Lola and her older brother remained with their father in Coos Bay, Oregon. However, their two younger brothers and their 2-year-old baby sister were all placed with three different relatives in Coos and Lane counties.
Four years later, Lola Stoops became pregnant and was married on May 1, 1909 to Herman Leo Winders at the courthouse in Coquille, Coos County, Oregon. On September 18, 1909, the Winders' daughter, Ethel Vera Winders, was born. Two years later, on December 13, 1911, their son Robert T. Winders was born.
Lola and Herman Winders were divorced about 1920 and both were remarried to others. Lola Winders was married to a Mr. DeMarce. She probably died some time before 1953 in California. Her daughter was Ethel Branstetter.
