Lelia (Lee) Oma Stone passed away March 11, 2004, in Oklahoma City. She was born September 8, 1907, in Tucumcari, NM to Lee Davis Stone and Dana Alice Grogan Stone. Lelia spent her youth in Chickasha, OK, where her father owned a grocery store and pool hall. In 1928 she married Maurice Liles Holladay and settled in Okla. City. She attended and taught Sunday School for many years at University Place Christian Church. She retired from TAFB in 1972 where she was employed as a data entry operator. After her retirement, Lee was able to give loving support to her grandsons, providing transportation for them to attend many after school activities they would not otherwise have been able to attend. She loved to garden and paint and many of her crafts will continue to brighten our homes at Christmas time. She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Frances Stone; and three sisters, Ruth Eloise Stroup, Lee Don Dunham and Mary May Betzer. Her grandfather, Lewis Bradford Grogan, was a Disciples of Christ preacher and evangelist to early Texas and Oklahoma Indian Territory settlers, who were giving their efforts and lives toward making the world a place of homes and what goes with them. She was proud of that heritage. She is survived by one son, Bernie Holladay and his wife, Ann, Phoenix, AZ; one daughter, Sharon Kyle and her husband, Ron, Okla. City; three grandsons, Jeff Kyle, Austin, TX; Danny Kyle and his wife, Tracy, Yukon, OK; Ben Holladay, Mesa, AZ; and two great grandsons, Dalton and Garrett. Throughout their youth, she was especially close to one nephew and three nieces as well. Lee is also survived by a dear and loyal friend of over 30 years. Lelia's family loved her more than can be expressed and we know she is happy to be finally at peace.
