WALTER STONE
MADRID~ Funeral services for Walter M. Stone, 70, of Rt. 2, Madrid, were held at the convenience of the family. Burial was made in Louisville Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were with the Fay G. Mann Funeral Home, Madrid. Mr. Stone died late Saturday night, Nov. 10, 1979, at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. He had been ill for the past few weeks.
Surviving are a son, James Stone of Delphi, Indiana; two sisters, Mrs. Theodore (Iris) Hall of Massena and Mrs. Cornelius (Frances) Toohey of Massena; a brother, George of Jordon, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Stone was born in San Francisco, CA. on May 25, 1909, the son of George and Effie (Richards) Stone. He attended Madrid High School and farmed on the family farm in Louisville for most of His adult life. In recent years, Mr. Stone had worked as a caretaker for the Madrid Golf Course and supervised the public skating rink in Madrid. Mr. Stone was a member of the United Church of Madrid and was a former member of the Massena Grange.
