Stella Reif, 88, formerly of Pullman, Uniontown

VENTURA, Calif. - Stella Reif, 88, a former resident and homemaker of Pullman, died of causes related to age Thursday at Ventura, where she had lived the past two years.

She was born to Charles and Maude Stone Sept. 30, 1900, at Windon, S.D.
On March 16, 1920, she married Fred Reif Jr. at Lewiston. The couple moved to Pullman in 1941 from Uniontown.

For 12 years she worked as a housekeeper at Washington State University, retiring in 1965. Her husband died Dec. 19, 1969.

She was a member of the Pullman Ladies of the Moose, American Legion Auxiliary, Rebekah Lodge and the Pullman Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include a son, Donald R. Reif of Goleta, Calif.; a sister, Precious Murphy of Ventura; and five grandchildren.

A son, Alvin C. Reif, died previously.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kimball Funeral Home at Pullman. The Rev. Graham Hutchins will officiate with burial to follow at Pullman City Cemetery.

Kimball Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
