Funeral for Mrs. Julia Christine Brakel Stone will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Baxter Chapel of the Oregon City United Methodist Church. Private committal will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Oregon City.
Mrs. Stone, a resident of Oregon City for many years, died in Seattle July 18 while on a visit. She had been living in Portland at 236 SE 32nd for the past six years.
She was a violinist, teacher and soloist in Portland churches, and theaters.
Mrs. Stone was born in Illinois May 17, 1881. She had lived for over 50 years in Oregon.
She was a member of the Monday Musical Club, the Oregon City Women's Club, the Derthick Club, the Oregon City Methodist Church, the Susanna Lee Barlow Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Rex John Underwood, Portland; two step-sons, Prof. William M. Stone, Corvallis, and Prof. Norman W. Stone, Cheney, Wash.; two grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Burton E. King, Tillamook and Mrs. Lewis M. Dawson, Seattle.
