Richard J. Stone, age 57, Oklahoma City, died September 18, 1983 at his home. He was born July 5, 1926 in Blue Springs, Missouri. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and came to Oklahoma City in 1961. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a graduate of the University of Kansas with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a licensed Professional Engineer. He was President of Governair Corporation; President of Temtrol, Inc., and Chairman of the Board of S.M.B. He was a member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Nichols Hills Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Darlene, of the home, his sons, William Richard Stone, David Eugene Stone, Eric Nelson Stone, daughter, Sarah Stone Gilbert, three grandchildren, Adam Richard Stone, Molly Reagen Stone, Dylan Wesley Stone, all of Oklahoma City, brother, Robert Stone of Atlanta, Georgia; sisters, Mariana Duer, Nokomis, Illinois, Marjorie Maberry of Appleton, Missouri, and Opal Cleland of Kansas City, Missouri. He will be greatly missed by his family & friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Services will be held Tuesday, 2 o'clock at The Nichols Hills Baptist Church with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery. Directed by Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper.
