Frances LaRayne Cummons, 82, of Lakeview, passed away, Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

LaRayne was born Sept. 6, 1932, in Manila, Utah, to the late Lester and Margaret Gamble Stoll. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Stoll.

On Jan. 11, 1957, she married Phil Cummons in Hawaii and he survives along with their daughter, Debra Cummons-Parker of Lakeview; their son, Jeffrey (Anne) Cummons of Jackson Center; their grandchildren, Taylor and Nicholas Cummons, and David, Ryan and Joshua Parker, a sister-in-law, Letty Powers; and several nieces and nephews including John Cummons and Lynn Potter who lived with LaRayne and Phil when they were younger.

LaRayne formerly worked as an OB nurse at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine. She also owned The Hutch and The Dairy Barn, both in Jackson Center. She was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Russells Point and attended St. Lawrence Parish in Rhine.

She and Phil were foster parents for many. She also was a former 4-H adviser and 4-H camp nurse. She enjoyed cake decorating, making ceramics, folk art painting and scrapbooking.

Father Daniel Hunt begins a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 20, at St. Lawrence Parish.

Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 19 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview.
Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery.
