Charley was the son of James Riley and Lucy Catherine Chaney Stogsdill. Not a lot is know about great uncle Charley's life after his military service in WWI. Uncle Charlie rode the rails and traveled all over the country. He didn't have a permanent address of record that I could find. Uncle Charlie returned to his sister Viola's house several times over the years, but always left again for parts unknown. He returned to Viola's for the last time to spend his last days in the comfort of his sister's loving care. Uncle Charlie past away in Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, Indiana. Uncle Charlie was taken back to his childhood home and laid to rest along the railroad tracks he loved.
