Mrs. Virginia R. Cooke, age 96 years, of Linwood St. Lynn died Tuesday, July 8, at Penacook Place in Haverhill, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Stanley E. Cooke, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn she was the daughter of the late Frank W. Mable (Sias) Stockbridge. She attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1930. She also graduated from Burdett Business School.

Mrs. Cooke was a member of the former Broadway United Methodist Church, a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Bee Keepers of Essex County, Order of the Eastern Star Tontoquon Chapter, and the Pine Hill Civic Assoc.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard C. and Sally Cooke of Georgetown, Donald E. and Dottie Cooke of North Reading, two sisters-in law Thelma Doane of Lynn, Priscilla Shamburger of Lynn, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many Nieces and Nephews. She was also mother of the late Mable Cooke. Service Information: Mrs. Cooke's funeral will be held at the Parker Funeral Home, 35 Franklin St. Lynn today at 11:00 a.m., to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
