Thelma M. Nevil, 78, 124 E. High St., Portland, died Thursday in Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. She was born in Portland, the daughter of Clarence and Lilly (Freyburger) Stipp. She was married August 23, 1950 to Andrew Blaine Nevil and he died May 5, 1993. She was a homemaker and member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Women of the Moose.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Teresa) Thornburg of Fountain City, IN; two brothers, Jim Stipp of Portland, IN, and Donald Stipp of Portland, IN; one sister, Edith Dickey of Fort Wayne; two grandchildren, Cindy Roberts of Colorado Spring, CO, and Kyle Thornburg of Williamsburg, IN; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Hugh Kelly presiding. Burial will follow in the Center Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 12-2 p.m. and prior to services Monday.
Memorials may be made to the Liver Transplant Program through the I.U. Medical Center.
