Marjie Juanita Morton, 86, of Springfield, Mo., passed away Friday, October 19, 2007. Juanita was born June 13, 1921, in Seligman, Mo., to Clara and Hiram Still. She married Robert W. Morton in Seligman Baptist Church on May 7, 1944. He preceded her in death August 7, 1998, after 54 years of marriage. Juanita was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Herman Still and Howard Still; and a sister Bernice Beecroft. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Scott and husband, Don, Debbie Neal and husband, Danny; one grandson, Brian Neal; a brother, Harold Still and his wife, Marguerite; a sister, Helen Ervin and her husband, Burle; sisters-in-law, Polly Still and Shirley Still; and many nieces and nephews. Juanita was a loving mother and a devoted grandmother to her grandson Brian. She was an active member of Boulevard Baptist Church and loved the fellowship of her Sunday school class. Juanita enjoyed sewing and creative crafts, and over the years has won many ribbons at the Ozark Empire Fair. Juanita was an avid reader and loved working challenging puzzles. She also enjoyed nature, especially bird watching and walking at the Springfield Nature Center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2007, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North with Pastor Doug Shivers officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening, October 23, 2007, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Boulevard Baptist Church, 1030 S. Eastgate Avenue, Springfield, MO 65809.
