Mrs. Elizabeth Mount died at her home on North West Street Tuesday morning at 5:40 after an illness lasting for several months, but only assuming a very serious nature the last few days. Mrs. Mount, whose maiden name was Elizabeth Stewart was born in Rush county March 10, 1833, and would have been 80 years old in a few days. Her girlhood was spent in the parental home until her marriage to John Mount, which took place in Rush county, Dec. 1, 1852. After the marriage they made their home in Rush county until in 1870 when they came to Tipton county and located on a farm in the Independence neighborhood. In 1886, Mr. Mount retired from active life and they removed to Tipton. Mr. Mount died June 30, 1906 and Mrs. Mount has continued to reside in the home place on North West Street. There were eight children born to Mr. and Mrs. Mount, of whom four survive. Three died in infancy and one daughter died at Independence at age seventeen. Those living are Judge W.W. Mount, of Tipton; Mrs. Perniel Blazer, of Independence; Mrs. A.G. Burkhardt, of Tipton and Mrs. Frank Parsons, of Walla Walla, Washington. Mrs. Mount is survived also by one sister, Mrs. Solomon Rader, of Walla Walla, Washington; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
