NEVILS, Ga. - Mrs. Reba S. McNure Edwards Smith, age 90, passed away Thursday evening at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. The Garfield, Ga., native moved to Bulloch County in 1945. She retired as a dietitian from Statesboro High School after 15 years of service and retired from Mac's Grocery and Garage in Nevils in 1980. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Nevils United Methodist Church since 1959. Preceding her in death was her late husbands, William Fletcher McNure Sr., D.W. Edwards and Hines Smith.

Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Linwood Harold and Carolyn McNure of Statesboro and William Fletcher McNure of Metter; six grandchildren, Linwood (Sara) McNure, Lisa (Floyd) Leach, Mike McNure and Ricky (Jocelyn) McNure, all of Statesboro, Rebecca (Doug) Griswell of Wrightsville and Billy (Debbie) McNure of Metter; nine great-grandchildren, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis Albert and Delores Stewart of New York and Charles and Era Stewart of Garfield; a sister, Juliette Donahue of Dublin; two sisters-in-law, Jean Stewart of Locust Grove and Katherine Bowen of Claxton; a special care giver, Theresa Newman of Nevils; former daughter-in-law, Barbara McNure; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Nevils United Methodist Church with Dr. Tab Smith officiating, assisted by the Rev. Frank Morris. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Nevils United Methodist Church and the Nevils Community. Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home of Statesboro is in charge of arrangements.
