Marine Corps Veteran. Stewart was a pistal marksman serving with the U. S. Marines during WW II. He trained at Paris Island, South Carolina, stationed in Camp Lejune, North Carolina in 1941. He served in the famous Soloman Islands Campaign which took place in the Peleui Islands of the South Pacific. . His great great grandfather was Domingo Fernandez of Spain, who was a large land holder in N.E. Florida and Amelia Island in the late 1700's.. Death due to lung cancer.
