Maude L. Beckwith, 90, a resident of Shook Home, Chambersburg, for the past year and a half and formerly of 820 Buchanan Trail East, Greencastle, died unexpectedly at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, in the nursing home.
Born Dec. 14, 1917, in Montgomery Township, she was the daughter of the late Emmert E. And Avis V. (Hoover) Stevens.
She and her husband, Paul G. Beckwith, were married Oct. 12, 1946. He died in December 1966.
Mrs. Beckwith retired from Greencastle-Antrim School District, where she was a cafeteria worker. She also worked at the former GEM Garment Co. of Greencastle and Fairchild Aircraft of Hagerstown
She was a member of Calvary bible Church of Greencastle.
She volunteered at Quincy Retirement Home.
Mrs. Beckwith is survived by one sister, Retha Daley of Mercersburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Avis Jan Beckwith; two sisters, Janette Saylor and Faye Bradley; and one brother, Wilson Stevens.
Burial will be Thursday in Welsh Run Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
