Elizabeth (Betty) Almo, 77, of Meadow Lands, died Thursday, August 25, 2005, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center, Washington. She was born January 27, 1928, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Marion and Sylvia E. Booth Stevens. She attended North Strabane schools and Trinity High School. She had worked at Bard's Dairy Store, Steak House and Continental Can Co., Canonsburg. She was a former member of Chartiers Township Volunteer Fire Department Womens Auxillary and loved playing bingo, cooking, gardening and spending time with her grandsons. On March 10, 1951, she married Herman Almo, who died April 18, 1997. Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Nina Scears Almo of Eighty Four, with whom she made her home; a grandson, Patrick W. Almo and wife Lynea of Meadow Lands; two great-grandsons, Logan Dakota and Lee Herman Almo; and five sisters, Ruth Sobczak of Canonsburg, Alice Hawley of Triadelphia, W.Va., Shirley Fortunato of Strabane, Evelyn Kelley of Arkansas and Laura Wilson of Texas. Deceased are a son, Gary H. Almo; two sisters, Irene Taylor and Edith Dessify; and four brothers, Elwood, John, Glenn and Richard Stevens.
Interment in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
