Lucille Stevens was born August 22, 1902 in rural Greene County, Missouri.
She married Conna "Fay" Fielder and together they raised two children, Robert and Peggy Fielder) Ott. Lucille and Fay were regular members of the family's pinochle group that rotated to each other's houses on Saturday nights.
Fay was mostly a farmer, but he also helped build houses, doing carpentry work. He had 25 or so cows to milk each day, and in the early days just sold milk to the creamery in town. After some upgrades that qualified his milk as Grade A, he then sold the milk to Twin Elms Dairy.
When Robert and Peggy became of school age, Lucille began working for a number of years as a sales clerk at Turner's Department Store in Springfield.
Fay died on October 18, 1963 with heart and diabetes health problems. Lucille died February 2, 1991. They are buried together in Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
