Mrs. Birdie B. Hamme, 64, widow of Ervin G. Hamme, 106 Westminster Avenue, died this morning at 1:55 o'clock at the Hanover General Hospital, where she had been admitted as a patient Friday.
Mrs. Hamme was the daughter of the late Uriah and Amelia (Yeiser) Sterner. Her husband died about six years ago.
Surviving are ten children, Lester L. Hamme, Westminster Avenue; Mrs. Donald B. Hill, Baskingridge, N.J.; Mrs. Harry S. Alwine, Spring Grove; Mrs. Raymond H. Beard, Third Street; Mrs. Arthur W. Nettrouer, Newton, Kansas; Mrs. Earl G. Krall, Dillsburg; Mrs. George Waltersdorff, Morrisville; Ervin G. Hamme Jr., Frederick Street; Mrs. Guy Buch, King Ferry, N.Y.; and Stewart M. Hamme, Westminster Avenue; 15 grandchildren; and one brother, John Malcolm Sterner, Frederick Street.
Mrs. Hamme was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and also the Sunday school class taught by Paul Carl, the Women's Missionary Society, Ladies Aid Society, the Women's League of Gettysburg College, Order of the Eastern Star Hanover Chapter No. 378, White Shrine of York and the Women's Auxiliary of the Pennville Fire Company.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at her late residence. Her pastor the Rev. Dr. Harry Hursh Beidleman, will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Fiends may call at the late home Tuesday evening.
