Joan S. Curtis, 81, of 576 Valley View Drive, New Holland, died unexpectedly Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Carlisle, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Lulu Sterner. She was married 57 years on Sept. 12 to Marshall H. Curtis. Joan was a homemaker and a member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ where she served as an aid to The Special Sunday School Class for many years. Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Susan N. Curtis at home; and a sister, Betsy Dratch of Atlanta, GA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 14 at 10 am at St. Stephen U.C.C., 249 E. Main St., New Holland with the Reverend David Goode officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
