Trevor David Sterner, age 39, of Allentown, PA., passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010. He was the husband of Vanessa F. (Rehrig) Sterner. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Betty J. (Hein) Sterner of Fleetwood and the late Elwood W. Sterner. Trevor was a graduate of Brandywine High School. He served in the US Army from Oct 26, 1988 to April 25, 1995 with his highest rank of Specialist Four. During this time he was assigned to the armament section of the 546th Maintenance Company, 66th Maint Bn 21st TAACOM located on Husterhoeh Kaserne, in Pirmasens, Germany. He was a Specialist Four when he received his honorable discharge in 1995. He is also a veteran of Operation Desert Storm where he served with the Special Forces. He was Ranger qualified, Special Forces qualified and Airborne qualified. After he left the service he was employed at East Penn Manufacturing for eleven years. Trevor was a former volunteer fireman with the Fleetwood Fire Company and was an EMT with the ambulance corps. His interests included hunting, hiking and camping. Survivors: In addition to his wife Vanessa and mother Betty; and a son Terry James (TJ) Sterner, of Allentown; and he was a loving step father of three children. Also surviving is a sister, Sandra J. (Sterner) Parks, Sinking Spring. Two brothers Timothy L. Sterner, Fleetwood and Terry E. Sterner of New Ringgold. Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street; Fleetwood, PA., handled the arrangements. Burial is at plot 260 A-3 in "Garden of John the Baptist" section of Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood, PA.
