6 Nov 2006: Catherine G. (Shue) Sterner, 90, of Homewood Home at Plum Creek, died Saturday, November 4, 2006, at the home. She was the wife of the late Earl W. Sterner. Funeral Wednesday at St. Jacob's (Stone) Church, Glenville, her pastor, Rev. Jason A. Leader, officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Mrs. Sterner was born July 14, 1916, in Codorus Township, a was a daughter of the late John Albert and Henrietta (Muth) Shue. She was employed as a packer with Hanover Brands in Hanover for over 24 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of United Church of Christ Congregation of St. Jacob's Stone Church, and was a 50 plus year member of the Sunday school and was of the Lay Life of the church. She was formerly of Black Rock Road in Hanover and has resided at Plum Creek since 2003. She is survived by daughter Janet S. Bortner of Troy, MI; son Dennis B. Sterner of Hanover; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sisters Dorothy M. Garrett and Lovie I. Rohrbaugh, both of Spring Grove. [York Daily Record]
