Ruth Sterling Allis, 75 of Wyalusing died on Monday, March 28, 1994 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Born on Oct. 4, 1918 in Wyalusing, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Ethel Rutan Sterling. Ruth was a graduate of Camptown High School. On Oct. 4, 1940 she married F. Vernon Allis. Mrs. Allis was a member of the Camptown Community Church; the United Methodist Women and the Camptown Civic Club. She left surviving her loving husband of 53 years; F. Vernon Allis at home; a son; Larry Allis of New Albany; a daughter; Roberta Lutz of Camptown; one brother; Lewis Sterling of Wyalusing RR; one sister, Lucy Campbell of Lawton, Pa.; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Allis was preceded in death by a son, Robert Allis in 1988. Funeral and committal services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 1994 at 11 a.m. in the Camptown Community Church with the Rev. Jane Pykus and Rev. Joyce Warner, pastors officiating. Interment will be in the Camptown Cemetery.
