DEIGHAN, Connie, age 83, a resident of Birmingham for 46 years, died peacefully at home, August 27, 2014. She was 83 years old. Connie was born at her home in Detroit, June 2, 1931, to Sophie (nee Moryc) and Bud Stempien.

Connie graduated from St. Alphonsus School in Dearborn, attended St. Mary's of Notre Dame and graduated from Oakland University. She married the love of her life, Patrick Deighan on October 6, 1956, in Dearborn. They raised their children in Birmingham where she was a member of Holy Name Parish, The Village Club, Forest Hills Swim Club, Ladies of Charity and Christ Child Society, where she was past president. Connie was also a member of the Mothers' Clubs at Holy Name Grade School, Marian High School and Brother Rice High School.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Connie was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

Connie is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Patrick Deighan and children, Daniel, Michael (Robin), Kevin, Mary Ann (Robert Schott), Christopher, Patrick (Katy), Matthew (Janine), James (Kyle), Joseph (Marielle), and Carolyn (Colin Coyne). She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and brother, Leonard (Lee) Stempien.

Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Friday 2-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Church, 630 Harmon, Birmingham, Saturday 10am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 9:30am. Burial will be in St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn.
