Sara J. Bergman, 75, of Denver, PA, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at home. Born in Brickerville, PA, she was a daughter of the late David and Emeline Fetter Steinmetz. She was employed in the cafeteria at the Cocalico School District and also a cook at the Reinholds VFW. She was a member of Swamp Lutheran Church, Reinholds, a life member of the Reinholds VFW Auxiliary for 50 years, and past VFW President for 10 years. Sara was very active in the Reinholds community and spent many years volunteering at the Coatesville VA Hospital, election polls, and the Reinholds carnivals, and also participated with card parties at the Smokestown Fire Co.
Surviving are her husband: Chester Bergman of Reinholds; Children: Terry (Sally), Sherry (friend Jim), and Todd (Theresa) of Reinholds, and Luanne (Mark) Horst of Ephrata; grandchildren: Jennifer Mann, Mark James, Amanda Horst, and Nathan Bergman; sister: Annabelle Snyder of Carlisle; brother: David Steinmetz of Adamstown; 14 nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Agnes Rupp.
Funeral Monday, June 22, 2009 at 11:00 AM, Viewing 9-11:00 AM at the Roseboro Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St. Denver, PA. Interment in Pleasant View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Reinholds VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Reinholds Fire Co., or the Reinholds Ambulance Assn. (Lancaster Newspapers, 6/20/2009)
