Wilma Phyllis Anderson, age 81, of Altoona, passed away Friday at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was born May 18, 1926 in Stanley, to William and Mary (Schuebel) Steinmetz. She married Meloy D. Anderson, June 14, 1949. Wilma was employed by Uniroyal and then sold Avon for 40 plus years, many years as a President's Club member. She loved to play cards and belonged to many card groups. She was a long-time member of Immaculate Conception Church. She was involved with the Immaculata Ladies Society and EC Catholic Women's Club. She loved spending time with all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Wilma is survive by her children Vicki (Patrick) LaVelle, Becky (Gale) Helwig, Sylvia (Dennis) Rau, Renee (Paul) Adler, Anoka MN, Neal (Sally) Anderson, Judy Cole, of Brillion, Dan Anderson, Doug (Maria Elena Martinez) Anderson, of Washington, DC and Carrie (Davitt Dougherty) Anderson, Greenfield, Minn.; grandchildren Matthew (Kristina) LaVelle, Eden Prairie, Minn., Andrew (Flor Maria) Madison, Gwen (Ben) Nemetz, Beth (Nate) Engum, Lino Lakes, Minn., Chuck (Cori) Rau, Sally Jerome, Tina (Andy) Schultz, Erin Adler of St. Paul, Krista Adler, Dee Dee Dhein of Baltimore, Md., Nicki Bignell, Minn., Derrick Anderson, Daylon Anderson, Angie Cole, Scott Cole, Jamie Anderson and Tyler Anderson of Springboro, Ohio, Bailey Anderson of Greenfield, Minn.; and 14 great-grandchildren. Wilma is also survive by sister in law Joyce Heinze and many other loving relatives and friends.


Her husband, Meloy and sister, Cleo Schneider, preceded Wilma in death.


Wilma's family wants to extend special thanks to the staff at CHP, Partner's Place, Home Instead and Tender Care for all their help and kindness to Wilma over the past few years.


A mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Reverend Eugene Klink officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at Stokes, Prock and Mundt Funeral Chapel, Altoona.


Friends may also call an hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. Stokes, Prock and Mundt Funeral Chapel is serving the family.
