Mary was living with her parents on the 1860 census. She married Konrad 13 March 1862. They bought acreage that joined her sister Elizabeth Wirth and were gardeners near present day Hess Lane and Preston Highway.
The death of two of the eight children of Konrad and Mary were not found; therefore they are not listed below. They were:
Mary L. the first born about 1865. At the time of her father's death in 1891 she was married to a Frankel. They had one son, Carl C., born about 1890. On the 1910 census Mary was married to Charles Obst. they had been married nine years. Charles was age 43 and Mary 45. Mary indicated she had two children and that one was living. This would have been Carl C. Frankel, age 20 living in the household with Charles and Mary. Also Mary's sister, Maggie, was with them. They were living on Breckinridge close to Shelby. Charles may have had a saloon at 839 S. Hancock. Mary's uncle, Philip Steinmetz, was a bartender for J.C. Obst on the 1910 census.
Julie, the last of the eight children, was born in 1886. She was at home with her mother on the 1900 census. Julie was married to Frank Eyl when the estate was settled in 1917.
