Sylvia Eunice Hess, 85, a resident of the Pelican Valley Nursing Center died Sunday, Jan. 21 at the home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25 at Larson Funeral Chapel in Pelican Rapids with Rev. James Raisanen officiating. Burial will be in Pelican Valley Cemetery in Pelican Rapids.
She was born Feb. 8, 1904 in Folden Township one of three daughters of Erving and Agnes (Wolf) Stegner.
She and Aaron Hess were married Aug. 30, 1924 in Stephen, where they farmed. They had one daughter. They later farmed near Thief River Falls and Fergus Falls and in 1946 they retired and moved to Pelican Rapids. Her husband died in 1971.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Larson Funeral Home.
