Mrs. Julia Buechel, 81, widow of John Buechel and a former St. Anna resident, died Wednesday night at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital where she was a patient for two weeks. The former Julia Steffes was born April 21, 1891, at St. Joe, a daughter of the late Jacob and Gertrude Dietzen Steffes. She was married to John Buechel in October 1915 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, St. Joe, after which the couple lived at St. Anna. He died in 1940. She moved to Waldo and was later a resident of Terrace Nursing Home at Sheboygan. Mrs. Buechel was a member of St. Ann's Catholic, St. Anna, the Christian Mothers and Altar Society.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Peter Brandt of New Holstein and Mrs. Alvis Brandt of St. Anna.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home at Kiel and at 10 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church, St. Anna. The Rev Raymond Conard, pastor, will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home until time of services.
