Georgia Ann Abell, 59, of the Kingston community, died Thursday morning at her residence. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Crossroads Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Burial is at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Georgia Ann Abell, 59, of the Kingston community, died the morning of Jan. 12, 2006, at her residence. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Crossroads Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Reisor, Rev. Jim Houston and Rev. Ron Hickey will officiate. Burial is at Memoryland Memorial Park.
The daughter of Wayne and Nova Wilburn Steed, she was born Sept. 14, 1946, in Greenville. On May 29, 1971, she was married to Benny Abell in Kingston.
Mrs. Abell was a retired teacher who taught reading for two years and first grade for 26 years at Celeste Elementary School. She was a member of ATPE and Academic Language Therapy Association, received a PTA lifetime membership and the Mirabeau Lamar Education Award from Celeste Masonic Lodge and had been active in the Celeste Booster Club and Celeste Little League.
Mrs. Abell was a member of Kingston Baptist Church where she served as church pianist, Young Adult Sunday school teacher and Sunday school director.
Surviving are her husband of Greenville; a son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Billie Abell of Commerce; grandchildren Trent Hemphill and Bailey Abell, both of Commerce; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Jerry Steed of Fort Worth and B.H. and Opal Newman of Greenville; nieces and their husbands, Shana and Vincent Priest and Gina and Brett Chapman, all of Arlington, Linda and Tim Price and Kristi and Tony Douglas, all of Sherman, Stacy and Steven Bock of Richardson, Amy and Aaron White of Arkansas, Lori and Daniel Herrera of Grand Prairie and Angel and Stephen Hardwick of Greenville; and nephews Steven Newman of Greenville, Bryan Lamm of Sherman and Rick Reed of Dallas.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Memorials may be made to Kingston Baptist Church.
Pallbearers are Chris Duvall, Michael Pohl, Mark Coles, Larry Lyday, Leo Faubion Sr., and Danny Lipsey.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
